Summer Wars

      One movie I really liked was Summer Wars. The movie was made in 2009. Kenji Koiso who is very good at mathematics starred. Mamoru Hosoda wrote and directed the movie. The movie won a lot of awards.

     The movie was set in Japan in 2010. In the beginning, Kenji was invited by Natsuki Shinohara, who was the heroine in this movie, to participate in her great grandmother Sakae Jinnouchi's 90th birthday. Then, OZ, which was virtual world on the Internet, was very related with real world and artificial intelligence called LOVE MACHINE hijacked the system. The real entire society was very confused. Sakae settled the situation using her broad range of personal connections. Suddenly, Sakae passed away and LOVE MACHINE tried to do bad things which can cause human extinction. Encouraged by Sakae’s will, Kenji and the Jinnouchi family confront the problem and saved life of all people. At the end, Kenji and the Jinnouchi family celebrated Sakae’s birthday the day after that.

     Why I like this movie is that Kenji and the Jinnouchi family set aside their differences and bond together to save the world. Why this movie is unique is that it includes both Japanese traditional part and Internet technology such as OZ.
